WorkPlay Does Craft Cocktails & Coffee Right!
We at Smart Living Hawaii always love supporting local businesses. When a new place opens, we check it out and when we love it, we want to share it with you! So here is a place that we think will be the next chic barista bar by day and swanky craft cocktail spot by night. It’s name, WorkPlay is just that, a place to go during work for coffee and after work to play.
Location is key and it’s located in the heart of Kaka’ako at 814 Ilaniwai St. where Redmond Group resides upstairs. WorkPlay is the new craft cocktail experience in Kaka’ako. If you are jumping on the bandwagon of all these libations, craft cocktails, specialty drinks with fresh juices, unique mixers, flavor explosions in your mouth...you need to drop in.
The venue is also great for parties as they have private themes rooms, a stage for live music, an outdoor patio space as well and free WiFi for those working by day. They are also on board with sustainable paper straws, way to go!
Phillip Hasha, owner and principal of the Redmont Group is the brainchild of WorkPlay and has created this establishment for the local patrons wanting a spot to bring clients to, socialize and organically network. Hoping to create a craft cocktail experience, elevated coffee shop and a place comfortable enough to be one of your regular hangout spots for work and play.
You are probably wondering what the budget is and if they have food. The answer is, yes to food and the drink prices are on par with other craft cocktail bars. They have recently released a great happy hour Monday-Friday (4p-6p). So perhaps you start there and give them a try!
Parking seems to always be a problem in this part of town due to the lack of street parking on the privately own roads. Not to fear, WorkPlay is well aware of this and has secured 17 stalls for its patrons during your visits, w/ overflow parking at Kauhale Kakaako, do check their rates and times. It’s also right next door to the new Howard Hughes Ward Village tower, Ke Kilohana and if that will be your new home or friend’s new home soon, WorkPlay will become your neighborhood favorite!
They just had their official launch party and it was a blast! They had Yoza playing, then DJs and dancing to follow. It was a ticketed event and all the proceeds went to the American Heart Association! Visit them soon!
